FAQ's

  • What's included in the price of the tour?

Included:  Ground transport to-and-from overseas destination airport to first hotel. Rental race bike (or special handling support for your own bike/bag brought over at your own expense), hotel rooms for as many nights explained in the itinerary, all daily breakfasts, all lunches, all dinners. All meals: all bottled water, all wine, all beer at restaurants. All luggage transfers upon arrival. All restaurant service tips. Van road support each day equipped with seats for pick-ups.  Did I miss anything? -All-Inclusive indeed!

  • If I book a tour, is it guaranteed to run?

Yes our trips will always run unless forced to cancel due to unusual acts of nature or man such as worldwide pandemic, world wars or both at the same time. Not funny I know!  Seriously though, we’ve never had to cancel any tours before 2020 and if we had to cancel one due to our own internal reasons, we would do so with more than 45 days notice and refund 100% of your deposit.

  • Can my children come on tour?

Unless you are planning a Private Tour with us, only children 21 years or older can join our adult cycling tours. We truly enjoy having parents taking their older children with them on our tours.

  • How do you accommodate dietary restrictions?

We work carefully with each of our customers with regard to dietary preferences, allergies and food exceptions.  We plan our menus with the restaurants a month in advance to confirm all of these exceptions are attended to.

  • Do you charge for Single room stays?

No extra charge for a single room! Unlike other tours, our advertised pricing includes private single rooms.  If you are planning to travel with a companion, there is an additional savings of $150 per person for doubling up.  Just let us know!

  • What kind of support can I expect while on tour?

We have 2 vehicles support us on the road –  one being a seated van to pick up guests who wish to end their cycling day early for any reason. While on the road, they provide water, snacks and mechanical repair as well. The cyclists will all keep a bag in the van for quick and convenient access to anything needed while cycling or at lunches such warmer clothes, sandals, rain gear, battery chargers, creams, etc. Luggage will be delivered to the destination hotels early and delivered into your room before your arrival.

  • Tipping the guides at the end?

All service travel companies recommend a level of tipping for hard working staff at the end of trips assuming excellent service was provided. The “industry standard” recommendation for tipping is 7%–10% at the end of tours however our support staff will appreciate ANY gratuity and 3% of the trip cost is certainly generous. Cash, euro, paypal or venmo is accepted.  The staff thanks you!

  • How can I ensure my bike is properly adjusted for me?

Our experienced mechanic staff will be onsite to assist the rental bike set-up at the onset of the trip.

  • Can I bring my own pedals and/or bike seat?

We actually recommend you bringing your own pedals, bike shoes and bike seat to maximize your comfort.  Our staff will assist the set up on the rental bike upon arrival.

  • Not included during the tour?

Each of these items below require a supplement cost or to be paid directly by you are itemized below:

Not included: Your flights, upgrading to an Electric-assist bikes, upgrading to a full Carbon frame rental bike, GPS units, helmets, clip-in pedals, overseas bike transport for your own bike.  Also not included are hotel mini-bar items, mixed drinks or additional beverages ordered at meals other than the wines, beer, mineral waters already provided at dinner. Please pay for these additional drinks separately as you order them.  A “discretionary gratuity of 2% to 3% ” (about $50 to $100) at the end of the trip for the road support staff to thank them for quality service and long hours on the road for us.

  • Are non-riders welcome on the trip?

Yes!  Non-cycling companions can sign up for the trip. There is a price reduction of $150 per person for sharing a room as well.  Non-cyclists can arrange local tours at their own expense while you are cycling and then join us for the 1:30pm lunch. Following lunch, they can then get shuttled to the final destination.

  • How do you accommodate varying riding abilities?

Our trips are designed to satisfy and accommodate all genders, “adult ages” and all levels of cyclists!  As a result, our lunches and dinners are fun with diverse groups of women and men.  For beginner, slower paced or older recreational cyclists, we accommodate your pace or distance needs as well as we provide opportunities to end your biking day after lunch or to drop you 5 miles down the road to provide relaxed “head starts” and reduce overall distance. Both advance and beginner cyclists all ride the same routes loaded into our GPS units so we are continually seeing each other on the road. With our large group tours, rarely is anyone totally alone unless they want to be.  Many times our advanced riders start later after breakfast or hang out longer at lunches to enjoy tastes of locally made “after dinner drinks”.

  • How do I book a tour?

Information on how to secure a spot on our trip with a deposit is available in the trip “Payments and Details” section attached to each tour itinerary. We encourage anyone considering to travel with us to contact us and arrange a chat by phone to help answer questions.

  • How should I train for the tour?

As soon as you decide to join the trip, get motivated to follow a healthy, fit, active lifestyle and plan on shedding any extra holiday weight.  With 90 days to departure, pick it up a notch!  We strongly recommend you train 3 times per week which can be a mix of:  outdoor cycling, indoor bike training at gym or home and/or spin classes.  Treadmill workouts and long walks on other days is a bonus and keeps the legs strong. Spin classes are excellent workouts to mix in to build aerobic endurance. Finally, with 60 days to go, plan some longer rides on the road such as 30, 40 and if possible a 50 miler.  Getting acclimated to being on your bike for 2 hours or more at a time will provide you confidence that you are sufficiently prepared

  • What should I pack?

Depending on where we are headed, we provide a complete check list of recommended items 60 days in advance.  I always enjoy adding “bathing suits and goggles” to the list when we cycle the Italian coast.

  • Are airport transfers provided at the start and end of the tour?

Yes!  We include a luxury bus pick up at the start of the trip as well as the end of thr trip based on the "group flight" plan. We find it fun and enjoyable when the travelers meet each other at the airport at the onset of the trip.

  • Can I bring my own bike?

Yes you can arrive with your own bike at your own travel expense. Our staff will assist service your bike during the tour as well as handle and transport your bike case.  Unfortunately we cannot provide any reduced pricing if you bring your own bike and we cannot be responsible for any damage or loss to it.

  • What if I have to cancel or change my trip?

We do our best to provide as much refund back as possible if you have to cancel your reservation with us.  Please click to review:  cancellation policy.
